Cash Receipt FAQ
A Receipt Protects Both Parties
Cash transactions are convenient but offer no built-in record. A signed receipt fixes that: protecting the seller from later \"I never paid\" claims, the buyer from \"that money was a gift\" tax surprises, and both from misremembered terms. For anything over a few hundred dollars, a written receipt is good business hygiene.
If you rendered a service rather than selling a physical item, the service-rendered receipt is the better format. Gig workers and freelancers who want a full billing flow (quote → invoice → receipt) should look at the freelancer invoice template as the starting point instead.
